Our community – Woody Point Jetty

These are the locks that will never be opened.

Because the keys are the love that so many people hold towards their friends, family and the Redcliffe Peninsula.

Taking a stroll down the Woody Point Jetty at the southern end of the Peninsula, you will experience glorious panoramic views of Moreton Bay, anglers dipping a line for the catch of the day and a host of joggers and families keen to soak up the view.

Look more closely, though, and you will see padlocks like the ones pictured fastened to the cables along the jetty.

Each carries their own inscription, sometimes the names of couples joined together at the popular wedding venue, others the names of people lost, but never forgotten.

The Jetty is a must-visit experience, whether you are a local or just passing through. It is the starting point for the scenic Jetty 2 Jetty Fun Run, is located beside many popular eateries including the Belvedere Hotel and is just a short walk from many amenities, children’s play equipment and the historic Gayunda Shipwreck.
